I'm from Puerto Rico and currently study in New York. My tastes in people who attract me is a pretty wide range, but I have my tastes and I never really thought they were a problem. Back in Puerto Rico about 90% of my girl friends were attracted to mostly white males, either that or obviously some latinos. Other than that there really was nothing else they would consider and any other race was inferior. I've always been attracted to almost every race except white men, I mean I might find one or two attractive, but that's about it. Thing is I always sucked it up because it wasn't really an issue, since about every guy in Puerto Rico is Puerto Rican anyway, it was whatever. I would just date Puerto Ricans. Then I recently moved out here to study with one of my girl friends. She strictly likes whites and latinos some and I haven't told her of a guy I've been seeing because I'm so uncomfortable telling her his family is middle eastern. She knows I've been talking to a guy because I recently yesterday mentioned it to her, then she said that I should invite him to go out with us someday, and I just don't really want to. I thought about it, but then yesterday afternoon we were watching some guys playing catch outside our window haha and she thought the white ones were just wow, and I mentioned that the one who had his back to us had a nice body and complexion and that I really wanted to see his face. Then she said " Uh, are you sure? I think he's like Indian or something." And I just totally freaked out. What would any of you do in this situation? Thanks in advance guys.

I adore my husband and our two year wedding anniversary is coming up in just over a month. I have always wished my husband were more romantic and took more initiative in planning special things, like our anniversary. I mean every time we go out on a date, trip, or have a special time together I am the one who has to figure out all of the details. At first I didn't mind as he wasn't familiar with the area, where as I have lived here my whole life. But I want to be surprised and romanced for once. I want him to step up and take care of this one. This isn't too much to ask for, right? How do I get this to happen without seeming too pushy?
